چکیده
Silicon carbide (SiC) has been widely used in many applications, which require high mechanical endurance or electrical resistance. It also serves as a basic material for light emitting diodes. Here, we present an in-liquid plasma method to produce SiC nanoparticles. A sustained spark-discharge dielectric liquid, is energized by nanosecond pulsed power supply, established the synthesis. To provide Si and C, employed graphite silicon electrodes cyclohexane (CHX) tetramethylsilane (TMS) liquids. For reasonable comparison, tested various combinations of electrode namely Si-to-C CHX, Si-to-Si C-to-C TMS. We found that discharges CHX particles encapsulated C-shell nanoparticles C-matrix. Meanwhile, TMS consistently with average size ~ 10 nm, regardless material.

Combustion Synthesis of Silicon Carbide
Combustion synthesis (CS) is an effective technique to produce a wide variety of advanced materials that include powders and net shape products of ceramics, intermetallics, composites and functionally graded materials. This method was discovered in the beginning of 1970's in the former Soviet Union (Merzhanov & Borovinskaya, 1972), and the development of this technique has led to the appearance...

This manuscript describes the findings of a study to investigate the performance of SiC MEMS resonators with respect to resonant frequency and quality factor under a variety of testing conditions, including various ambient pressures, AC drive voltages, bias potentials and temperatures. The sample set included both single-crystal and polycrystalline 3C-SiC lateral resonators. The experimental re...
متن کاملSynthesis and characterization of silicon carbide, silicon oxynitride and silicon nitride nanowires
Several methods have been employed to synthesize SiC nanowires. The methods include heating silica gel or fumed silica with activated carbon in a reducing atmosphere, the carbon particles being produced in situ in one of the methods. The simplest method to obtain b-SiC nanowires involves heating silica gel with activated carbon at 1360 uC in H2 or NH3. The same reaction, if carried out in the p...
متن کاملOptimization of Non-volatile Memory Cell and Energy Consumption in Robot Systems by Synthesized Silicon Nanoparticles via Electrical Discharge
In this paper, we propose to optimize manufacturing methods of memory cells by produced silicon nanoparticles via electrical spark discharge of silicon electrodes in water to reduce the energy consumption for low power applications. The pulsed spark discharge with the peak current of 60 A and a duration of a single discharge pulse of 60 µs was used in our experiment. The structure, morphology, ...
